Do I need an account to download?

No. Public and unlisted subtitles can be downloaded by anyone. You need an account to upload, rate or share.

How do I log in?

With your Google account. subtitld.cc never sees or stores a password.

Does the site upload my video when I search by file?

No. Your browser reads only the beginning and the end of the file to compute a fingerprint, and only the fingerprint is sent.

Every subtitle gets an 11-character ID. subtitld.cc/Xk3pQ9aZ2bT always shows the latest version; subtitld.cc/Xk3pQ9aZ2bT/v3 always shows version 3.

What's the difference between public, unlisted and restricted?

  • Public subtitles appear in search and are shared under CC BY 4.0.
  • Unlisted subtitles can be opened by anyone with the link, but don't appear in search.
  • Restricted subtitles can only be opened by the people and groups they're shared with.
